Judged by the fact that the traffic on this blog has increased, I want to propose that all of those who come across it kindly take some time and leave some information about their experience till now of getting into the Swedish medical system (irrespective of where you stand in the process). This could become a place where others can benefit from our first hand experiences, God willing. Please feel free to share in the comments anything that others might find helpful.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Which country do you belong to and how do you come to Sweden (on what status)? Did your visa status affect you in any way during the whole process?
2. How long was your medicine degree? Did you have any work experience or specialization?
3. What was your major source of information or help?
4. How long did it take to clear the Swedish language requirements? What kind of courses did you take? Would you say it's easy?
5. Did you do 'praktik' or probational training (often for specialists)? Was it easy to arrange? What's the best way to arrange it? Did it prove helpful for the TULE exam?
6. Did you take the TULE exam? Did you clear it in one attempt or more? What's the best way to study for it? Which books are the most important? How long does it take to study for it? What kind of background helps?
7. Did you take part in the completing medical degree (kompletterande utbildning för läkare med utländsk examen)? From where? How was it?
8. Have you done AT (allmäntjänstgöring/internship)? How long was the waiting time? Did being an international graduate affect you in anyway, good or bad?
9. Your experience with the AT exam, license application, ST?
10. How long have you been in Sweden? What's your opinion about the health care system and about Sweden in general? What would you suggest to someone who is thinking about it or wants to pursue this?
Thank you for the contribution! Good luck to you!
