AT-läkare - applying for the job

October 2012 4th of october was the last day for applying for sessions starting in March and May 2013. I did apply to Hallandssjukhus online but didn't get accepted (received an email after a month). I didn't do it seriously, that is applying to lots of places, especially the uncommon ones. My husband got pretty angry at me for not giving it a good try. I'm regretting it too and God knows if it's for good or not. Anyway I did panic a week after the last date, called a few places, obviously there was no chance then. I did, however find a person polite enough to reply to my emails. I learned from him that they chose 13 doctors out of almost 200, and they all wait a long time, so I probably didn't have a chance. I asked him what is it that makes those 13 to be selected. He replied that it's a big advantage to have worked in the same region as you're applying. Recommendation letters and personal letter with CV are also important. Plus I think I need to fi...

Swedish 1,2,3 instead of Swedish A,B,C

As of my knowledge, the courses got new names in the mid of 2012. I don't have any idea as to what good that does but may be it makes the names match better with the other course names. Personally, I'm glad they did that. The reason simply being the Pakistani community. When I tell someone that I've completed Swedish B, they ask me if I have yet to do C and D of SFI? Even if I do explain the system, I know many are still doubtful about my language skills and tend to ask: So can you speak it now? My answer: a smile or a nod. Me in my head: .... What!!! You don't have ANY idea, do you? ... P.S.: For some reason I have applied for SVA 3 (offered by lernia but not komvux right now). I am going to take it at some point, not sure about right now, with the test getting nearer.

Learning Swedish Language - Swedish B

In May 2012, the medical Swedish course at folkuniversitet came to an end. My teacher encouraged me to attempt Swedish B in August. So I registered myself at Komvux during June and found out that I'll be taking the test with Carina, who is considered to be a little strict teacher. Anyway, I like strict teachers.   I had a vacation planned in June and was back in the mid of July. Most of the study I did was in August. I had to choose 2 novels and write their summaries, write an exam (uppsats), prepare for verbal presentation on the novels and on Swedish language history etc.   The exam went amazingly well. I did get an MVG and the teacher was extremely pleased. The way she praised my Swedish that day is something I might never forget. She said she wished that I was her student. She had tears in her eyes. I am very thankful to God for all that.   I'll try to add the course and preparation material to this post later inshaAllah.
